 | History of Dawn's Light
Dawn's Light, Center for Children and Adults in Grief is modeled after
The Dougy Center in Portland, Oregon who have successfully served their community for the
past 25 years.
It was apparent that the Sierra Foothills areas were in need of a grief
center after 50 concerned citizens joined together in August 2006 to share the needs of
their clients, families, friends and neighbors.
Dawn's Light is the first and only grief center in the Sierra-Nevada
Foothills, offering specialized bereavement services to children and adults coping with
the death of a loved one. Our teen suicide prevention support groups are available
in Sonora.

| About ~ Nansea Arquette
Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Thanatologist is a professional
counselor, speaker, trainer, and consultant with more that 20 years service in Hospice
care. She has presented classes on death, dying and bereavement in hospitals,
hospices, churches, correctional institutions, mental health facilities and social service
agencies.
She was awarded a Certification of Thanatology from The Association of
Death Education and Counseling, for her expertise in death,dying & bereavement.
She has been active in grief counseling since
1988. She provides training and facilitates grief support groups
as well as individual grief support. Nansea offers community
based youth groups for empowering our youth to choose healthy
lifestyles. (Suicide Prevention)
